The Ford GT40, sometimes called Ford GT40 MkI is a sports car which was produced in 126 specimens, from 1964 to 1968. It allowed the American firm to win, among others, the 24 Hours of Le Mans four successive times, from 1966 to 1969. The name GT40 comes from the initials “GT” in the “Grand Touring”, supplemented by the number “40” for its 40-inch ride height (1.02 m).
